Mattia Binotto’s words provided scant consolation for Sebastian Vettel as a five-second penalty struck off his and Ferrari’s first race win of the 2019 Formula One season. This campaign has been miserable so far for Vettel and team-mate Charles Leclerc, reaching a head with the German’s post-race antics at the Canadian Grand Prix as he fumed at the result. A week that had started with Vettel refuting suggestions he could retire ended with the same man moving around the P1 sign in parc ferme to indicate he, not Lewis Hamilton, had won....

Verstappen’s third consecutive podium finish left the 20-year-old fifth in the world championship standings, with leaders Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton split by a single point. Although Red Bull have demonstrated improved reliability and performance of late, Verstappen believes the 53-point gap he has to make up on leader Vettel is too vast. And with Silverstone’s long straights and fast corners not well-suited to Red Bull, Verstappen is downbeat about his team’s British GP chances....

In doing so, Fernando Alonso, emerged right on top of a race that was interrupted by four safety-car periods and two full-course yellows in a titanic contest held at the heart of the Ardennes in Belgium. Under uncertain driving conditions, Alonso’s #8 Toyota TS050 Hybrid emerged the frontrunner in a battle of several ups and downs at the six hours of Spa-Francorchamps. For a driver who now stands in greater proximity to grabbing a triple crown- a feat that would only increase his greatness and standing in motorsports- Alonso, who hadn’t won previously in a snow-plagued event, made most of his opportunity this time around....

Sebastian Vettel had a horrid time during the race and ultimately finished sixth. He provided entertainment by fighting for track position, but it was not for the lead of the race as he would have wanted. Valtteri Bottas held onto his second place even as Max Verstappen in third gave a good challenge to the Finn. The charging Australian, Daniel Ricciardo claimed the fourth position after a stellar drive from down in 15th as Kimi Räikkönen finished behind him in fifth....

Bahrain brought too many back and forth battles. We saw Hamilton going after Vettel twice where the German driver managed to blow up his race by spinning out, damaging his front left tyre and front wing. We saw Verstappen vs Stroll with Verstappen not letting Stroll pass him that easily. In fact, Stroll had to fight with Verstappen. Both Renaults had a battle and ultimately took each other out. So this Grand Prix was full of ‘Oh My God’ moments, maybe because Stewards had a lighter hand on giving penalties and letting the drivers RACE....

The weekend will follow a ‘sprint’ format of qualifying, with the traditional qualifying session setting the grid for the sprint race instead. Qualifying for the sprint event will take place on Friday, April 22nd. The hour-long session is broken up into three parts, Q1, Q2, and Q3, with each lasting for 18 minutes, 15 minutes, and 12 minutes, respectively. F1 teams will have to work especially hard to qualify towards the front of the grid for the sprint race as incidents and collisions tend to occur in the midfield, ruining their chances in the sprint and main races....

As reported by Motorsport, current F1 championship leader Charles Leclerc was certainly intrigued by the concept, saying: Haas’ Kevin Magnessun, too, claimed that the plans for a standalone event could result in a more exciting weekend overall, saying: Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll, however, revealed that he is happy with the format as it stands today, saying: Slight tweaks have been brought about this year to the sprint event. It is no longer referred to as a sprint “qualifying” session....

Qualifying in Monaco was also scuppered when a crash by Red Bull’s Sergio Perez and a pile-up involving Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz brought Q3 to a premature end, much to the disappointment of many drivers on their final flying lap....

The newly crowned back-to-back world champion produced a fine final flying lap to finish ahead of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, who had led the way in the final practice session. Russell said afterwards he felt he had let down his team with a “terrible lap”, saying: “I felt like it was our pole to have.” Verstappen’s first pole in Mexico City stands him in a strong position to win his 14th grand prix of the season and break the record for the most race wins in a single campaign....

Demaison is positive that this will sooner or later lead to cars that look almost identical across the grid. On Twitter, Facebook Gaming revealed a feature called Tournaments which it says will bring some “friendly competition” to gamers wherever they are. The feature is in early access, says Facebook, but anyone can create a tournament to compete with their friends, streamers can use it to compete with their chat, and it can be used to host global esports competitions. Events such as the Overwatch League have moved online as COVID-19 has forced them not to hold events in-person, and this Facebook Gaming feature gives organizers another way to make these competitions happen....

Jonathan Bailey, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, England, initially told his followers on Saturday that he intended to take his own life before broadcasting the livestream. The broadcast attracted more than 400 viewers, with several begging him to stop what he was doing. Some users also reportedly attempted to alert Facebook, however, the platform failed to stop the livestream, according to The Mirror. Bailey—a popular member of the local community who was called Baz or Bazza by those who knew him—was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics who had responded to reports of a “medical emergency....

The accounts were removed in the past 48 hours, according to Meta. The group, known as Ghostwriter, allegedly gained access to several Facebook accounts registered in Ukraine. The website described how the group was able to get into accounts, while also outlining what has been done to prevent more hacks from occurring. “Ghostwriter typically targets people through email compromise and then uses that to gain access to their social media accounts and post disinformation as if it’s coming from the legitimate account owners,” Meta said....

An interactive dashboard, which is being updated daily, shows a full county-by-county breakdown of the percentage of people who reported having symptoms, not confirmed cases. Despite starting the race in P14, Verstappen made it to the front of the grid to take the lead in the race from pole-sitter Carlos Sainz within the first 12 laps.
