Despite having already brought to dark mode for desktop, the Facebook iOS app is still bright white for everyone in the world. That’s set to change according to reports from WABetaInfo and 9to5Mac.

9to5Mac shared the above image of how dark mode for Facebook on iPhone will look, with a grayscale design rather than black. The report says you’ll be able to toggle it manually or set it to follow the system settings of iOS (which we think is the best way to go about using dark mode).

It’s odd that Facebook has taken so long to integrate this upcoming feature considering it has brought it to the mobile apps for Messenger, as well as its other properties Instagram and WhatsApp.

The advantages of dark mode are threefold – one is the aesthetic, which some prefer, the second is that its less strain on your eyes when using your device in the dark, and the third is that it uses less battery power for OLED displays, such as that found on the iPhone 11 Pro and many high-end Android devices.
