Facebook’s Clubhouse Competitor Is Coming Soon Facebook refuses to fall behind the curve, and its upcoming updates demonstrate that. In a post on the About Facebook blog, Facebook announced several new audio-based ways to communicate on the platform. Live Audio Rooms is but one audio-only feature that Facebook is exploring. So far, it’s shaping up to be a lot like Clubhouse, as it will let users take part in live audio chatrooms....

Facebook Becomes Less Tolerant Towards Groups Tom Alison, Facebook’s vice president of engineering, detailed the new measures the platform is taking to secure groups in an About Facebook blog post. Facebook has already tightened restrictions on hate speech, and those restrictions are now closing in on groups as well. Facebook has already taken down 1.5 million posts in groups for breaking Facebook’s organized hate policies, and also removed over one million groups for violating Community Standards....

Facebook previously ran into some trouble when attempting to bring its Facebook Gaming app to iOS devices, but has been able to sidestep the App Store’s restrictions via its web app. The web app, which can be accessed through an iOS device’s browser, allows users to experience a number of free and free-to-play games without the need to download anything. While this does get around the App Store’s restrictions, a web app won’t be as easy for the average consumer to discover or use, since they’d have to know to go through their browser in the first place....
